Congo · Kivu Bonobo · Virunga
One of the most remote coffee regions on earth. One of the most extraordinary cups it produces.
North Kivu sits inside Virunga National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage site on the shores of Lake Kivu, shared between Congo, Rwanda and Uganda. The same volcanic soil that sustains one of the last populations of mountain gorillas also produces this coffee. No pesticides. No chemical fertilizers. Just altitude, volcanic earth and the hands of small producers who harvest every cherry manually.
In the cup: bright citrus acidity that opens clean and sharp, giving way to layers of fruit and a natural sweetness that builds slowly. Complex without being difficult. Precise without being cold.
A grand cru. The kind of coffee that reminds you why origin matters.
