ETHIOPIA COFFEE BEANS
Ethiopia · Sidamo · Kilenso Mokonisa · Oromia
Ethiopia is where coffee began. Sidamo is where it reaches its most expressive.
The Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union represents 20,000 farmers across the Sidamo region — pioneers of the Fairtrade Climate Standard, building practices that will allow this land to keep producing exceptional coffee long after the rest of the world has felt the full weight of what is coming. Between the coffee trees grow Ethiopian bananas, shading the soil, retaining moisture, feeding the community. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is accidental.
The coffee grows between 1,600 and 1,900 metres on heirloom varieties — the original Ethiopian genetics, unchanged and unimproved because they don't need to be.
In the cup: jasmine and bergamot open first, floral and precise. Apricot follows — bright, fruity, almost surprising. A high acidity that carries everything cleanly through to a finish of dark chocolate and caramel that grounds it all.
The coffee that started everything. Still one of the best.
Roasted to order. Never sitting. Always fresh.
